GENERAL KNOWLEDGE - and more

  • Training

Rachel began performing professionally as a kid with San Francisco Opera. She has a BA in Theatre from Oberlin College with a focus in Musical Theatre & Shakespeare. She has studied intensely with The American Conservatory Theatre, The National Theatre Institute, and Shakespeare and Company and studied abroad with The Gaiety Theatre in Ireland and The St. Petersburg Institute of Performing Arts in Russia.

Rachel is trained singer in classical, jazz, and musical theater. Her musicality has leant her a great ear for pitch matching (hello seamless pick ups!), fast accent retention & more dynamic vocal characters.

  • Rachel has always had a passion for the visual arts. Specifically: watercolor, calligraphy and design. (In fact all the hand lettering on this website is Rachel’s). Rachel runs a small design business Flowered Words Co. She creates many things including invitations, notebooks and one of a kind keepsakes.

Rachel has always enjoyed creating things and has been fascinated by fashion history & costuming for most of her life.

  • Rachel minored in computer science in college. Learning HTML, CSS, Javascript and Python. She worked at Apple upgrading new computers, transferring data and teaching private and group classes on various apple programs.

  • Rachel has spoken French since she was 5 years old. While no longer fluent - she speaks conversational french well with an authentic accent.

She also studied Italian for a brief period when singing classically - though her Italian is a bit old fashioned…

  • • Rachel is a former ballerina and figure skater. Which surprisingly does occasionally help in audiobook narration - particularly when voicing a dance instructor or choreographer giving steps to dancers.

    • She loves animals! (If you couldn’t already tell from the many many photos she posts of her dog Freddie). They spend many afternoons hiking through the Hollywood Hills.

    • Don't trust her "sweet face", when she's not listening to an audiobook, it's a True Crime podcast in her ears. There is an unhealthy wealth of crime knowledge behind those innocent eyes.
